Dr. Stephen Pruitt, KDE Commissioner of Education, has proclaimed this week (October 16-20) Safe Schools week for all of Kentucky. I understand many of you have fun activities planned to bring awareness to our efforts of ensuring the physical, social, & emotional safety of our students and staff. I encourage everyone to stress the importance of maintaining high expectations for interacting in a positive manner with peers beyond this week and throughout the year. Holding students accountable for these expectations is paramount to a safe learning environment for all.
We are still awaiting a proposal from Frankfort in regard to the pension (it should become public this week). I will forward this information to all staff as soon as it is released. It’s important to remember that the Governor has communicated that there will be time for feedback from the public before any definitive legislative action occurs.
Lastly, please continue to be mindful of our commitment to Service Excellence as we Act in a way that shows care for all people. Let’s all demonstrate self control by using kind language, expression and tone.
Have a great week!
